MICR stands for Magnetic Ink Character Recognition used for Cheque Printing. MICR can also refer to the special font used to print the numbers and symbols at the bottom of a check. The "MICR Line" at the bottom of a check allows your bank account information by machine. Installation The MICR line on checks must be printed using MICR toner. This special toner is only available for laser printers. To be assured of the quality of your MICR printings use OEM HP MICR toner cartridges and OEM MICR toners.
