Why Use Barcodes? The use of barcodes for product identification, data reading and tracing of e.g. shipment is increasing in all areas of business. Also in the printing of barcodes you see a change from centralised batch print to printing the barcodes on e.g. labels and shipment papers when you need it. Examples of barcode use could include: transportation companies, who mark packages and shipment papers with barcodes, which is then scanned several times during the transportation, to allow exact tracking of the route of the packages. Companies also use barcodes to uniquely identify all objects such as stock items, so that all objects can be identified in production and logistic purposes. Barcodes can be delivered on different medias: MFC, DIMM, SIMM, Dongle or Softfont (also as TrueType font). The media type is dependent on which printer the barcodes should be used with and what requirements you have for the solution.
Enlarge the strength of your ERP solutions Whether controlling inventory at a warehouse, or managing patient records in a hospital, barcodes are essential to effective Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). Now this technology is less expensive and faster to deploy than ever no matter which ERP application you’re using (SAP, Oracle, or PeopleSoft, to name a few). With the Barcode 100 solution you can easily add barcode capabilities to your HP LaserJet printers, and instantly integrate barcodes into normal printing. Printing barcodes have never been easier Fully functional from Microsoft Windows applications, from Unix, from IBM AS/400 or IBM Mainframe host systems, this robust software based technology is the easiest, most complete solution for quickly and accurately printing barcodes on HP LaserJet printers. The Barcode 100 DIMM/MFC is easily installed in a free memory slot in your HP LaserJet printer, and instantly giving these printers the ability to produce precise barcodes in practically any format. Complete the installation without needing to program the printer — it does the job automatically, from checking and processing incoming data, to writing text under or above the bars. Create barcodes from Windows, Unix, AS/400 and Mainframes — inserting a barcode into a document is as easy as selecting a new font in your Windows application such as Word or Excel. Printer requirements
The EuroForm Barcode 100 requires a TCP/IP network connection in order to work so the printer needs a build-in JetDirect card or EIO JetDirect card installed in the printer. In HP LJ2420, LJ2430, LJ4250 and LJ4350 the Barcode 100 MFC need to be installed in Slot 2. If Barcode 100 MFC is installed in Slot 1 (system code) the Barcode 100 will not work. |
